Josh Margolis joined NBC Montana in late August 2022 as the Butte-area multimedia journalist.

In the 3.5 years prior, Josh lived in Havre and served as News Director and a sports play-by-play voice for New Media Broadcasters radio stations.

While in Havre, Josh gained experience covering local news, including politics, agriculture, and the economy.

Josh had the honor of handling play-by-play duties for numerous high school sports, including the 2021 Six-Man Football Semifinals and the 2022 Class C Girls Basketball State Title Game.

In his final act before moving to the Mining City, Josh played the role of Murderer #1 in the Montana Actors’ Theatre production of MacBeth – an ambitious outdoor production with live horses that saw over 1,100 attendees across three showings.

Josh graduated from Indiana University-Bloomington in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. As a Hoosier, Josh spent time interning for the local PBS/NPR station, broadcasting sports for BTN Student U, covering the IU basketball beat for Inside the Hall, Josh spent a summer studying abroad in Uganda to report on HIV/AIDS.

Josh also has experience as a summer camp counselor and special needs advocate, babysitter and escape room host.

When he’s not working, Josh enjoys skiing, watching sports, playing disc golf and ultimate frisbee and adventuring.
