CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) — A candlelight vigil was held at an Ohio elementary school to honor three young boys who police say were killed by their father.
Dozens of community members gathered at Monroe Elementary School in Clermont County Saturday night, where one of the victims was a student.
Those who attended honored the victims as well as prayed for support for the surviving victims, the boys' mother and stepsister.
All five were home Thursday when 32-year-old Chad Doerman allegedly lined up the boys – ages 3, 4 and 7 – and executed them with a rifle. The stepsister managed to escape and run for help, and the 34-year-old mother was shot in the hand when she reportedly tried to grab the gun.
Grief counselors were made available at the elementary school for students and staff on Friday, the day after the murders happened.
A memorial was also put up in front of their house, with crosses as well as stuffed animals and balloons sitting underneath a tent.
