Amen Brother w/ T.B.D.

Amen Brother are very happy to announce our first International guests to Odessa with the Irish debut of New York’s T.B.D. (Golf Channel, DFA)

Dj’s Justin Vandervolgen (formerly producer of !!! and Outhud) & Lee Douglas (Rong Music) aka T.B.D. (DFA, Golf Channel) for a full on night of scorching disco, boogie gems and twisted house.

Support on the night comes from A.B. resident Niall Kirk.

(More Surprises TB….A!!)

Comprising Rong Music’s Lee Douglas and ex-!!!/Outhud bassist/producer Justin Vandervolgen, TBD first made some noteworthy noise with the release of “What Is This?”, their 2009 debut. It found favor with critics, DJs and audiences alike, for it’s seditious take on dance music, avoidance of worn-out conventions and sheer sublimity. It was fitting success for an outfit founded by two musicians who, bored by the sounds around them, set out to “create something new, fresh and not confined by restrictive genre pigeonholing.” TBD was picked up by NY’s DFA label for their forthcoming single. Also in the pipelines are remixes for luminaries including Permanent Vacation, Runaway, 2020 Soundsystem and Populette, to name just a few.

Has a history spanning the last 13 years in the dance/disco community. Being one of the founding members and producer of the bands !!! and Outhud as well as remixing for labels such as Warp, EMI and Output. In 2003 Justin produced the !!! record “Me And Giuliani Down By The Schoolyard” which became a UK dance chart hit and helped to bring the emerging early 2000’s sound of NY dance music to the rest of the world. It was in 2001, when Justin moved to NY that he started djing more and playing some of the best parties and after hours spots in the city. Early 2008 saw Justin leaving !!!, (Outhud disbanded in 2005) to focus on producing, remixing and djing. 2009 saw the release of a two projects, one with Lee Douglas as TBD and his own now classic edit series titled ‘Try To Find Me‘ on Golf Channel Recordings.

DJ/Producer Doug Lee a.k.a. Lee Douglas has been at the forefront of New York’s disco/nu-disco/edits scene for the past decade. As an integral member of NYC-based Rong Music, the remarkable Stallions with partner Lovefingers and of course T.B.D., Lee has been forging and evolving his sound into uncharted territory refusing to be pinned down or give in to trends.

Since his debut release Our Song in 2004, (aptly hailed as a modern disco masterpiece) he has also dropped the massive New York Story in 2007, picked by many DJs as the year’s anthem and recently made Beatport’s Top 10 Nu-Disco tracks of the DECADE, alongside luminaries like Lindstrom, Terje and Aeroplane. He’s done numerous remixes for artists like Juan Maclean, Coati Mundi, Shit Robot, Findlay Brown… all the while consistently cranking out vital re-edits on imprints like Blackdisco, Editions Disco, Wurst and his own TBD Classics.

So whether it be his collaborative projects; TBD with Justin Vandervolgen (Golf Channel/formerly of !!!), The Stallions, or his own originals/remixes/edits, Lee Douglas’ productions have found their way into the bags of virtually every notable disco jock to name ie: Mancuso, Harvey, Prins Thomas, Optimo…. and most likely yours too.
